How we find trends
Every day we look for the trends people are making right now, check them, and add the ones that are still growing.
Where we look
TikTok search and hashtags first, then Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts: new dances, AI edits and formats that many different creators are posting in the same week. One viral video isn't a trend; we wait until other people copy it.
What we check before adding one
- The earliest post we can find and its date.
- The sound it uses and who made it.
- How many creators posted it in the last 7 days, and whether that's going up.
These go on the trend's page with the date we checked them. If we can't check something, we leave it out rather than guess.
Real clips
For real-clip trends we pick one clear public post, use 10 seconds of it, and name and link its creator on the trend page. Creators can have it removed at any time on the takedown page.
Still trending?
Each trend's page shows how many creators posted it in the last 7 days when we've measured it. Trends that stop growing stay on the site, marked as past their peak.
