How to find TikTok trends early

Updated · Remake the Trend

Count creators, not views. One video with millions of views is a viral post; the same format from many different creators in the same week is a trend. Search the format with TikTok's this-week filter, see how many different people posted it, and check again a few days later: if the number grows, it's rising.

Five ways to catch one early

  1. Search the idea plus "ai" on TikTok and filter to this week. Count different creators, not videos.
  2. Open the sound: a sound whose video count jumps over a few days is carrying a trend.
  3. Watch the comments of a viral post. "How do I make this?" means people are about to copy it.
  4. Check the trends section of TikTok's Creative Center: it is made for advertisers and lists popular hashtags.
  5. Look at our trends-today page: every trend there is counted the same way and dated.

What a rising trend looks like in numbers

We call a trend hot when at least 15 different creators posted an AI version in the last 7 days, still trending from 4, and past its peak below that. In the week before 5 November 2026, 13 of the 28 trends we measured were hot.
